Canarvon Wilderness Lodge

On the 24th June 2nd – July, Harriet and I flew up to Rockhampton to see Claire our daughter for a whole week. We then went out to Canarvon Gorge for three days and walked several of the wonderful walks on two days.

Claire has left home about a year ago and is a wonderful primary school teacher up at MiddleMount. MiddleMount is a coal mining town 2.50 hours northwest of Rockhampton. We stayed at the Canarvon Wilderness Lodge. See the photos below.

Carnarvon Gorge, Carnarvon National Park

Traditional Owners have a long and on-going relationship with the area that falls within Carnarvon National Park. The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) acknowledges the connection Aboriginal people have with this cultural heritage place, and asks that you treat the country through which you walk with respect and care.
